Our Obsession with Shoulds

We are obsessed with our beliefs about what we think we should be doing. These beliefs hold tightly onto us, and we follow their stories obligingly. What if we followed a different story? What would it be like to be more interested in our real life story than our imagined story? Perhaps not as entertaining. But could it be more interesting to know that our real story was more real? Could it ultimately be more satisfying to know that it was our proof that we were living our life correctly all the while believing we were falling short of something? How amazing it would be if our minds were calibrated to recognize reality as the treasure over our should thoughts. How liberating and soothing our existence might be.
